Nicole Holton, DC, PC treats the whole body. We believe in treating each patient with a comprehensive strategy involving physical adjustments, education, nutritional support, muscle/tissue work, and rehabilitation.  The balance of holistic treatment and sound medical knowledge ensures that you are in good hands.

Each treatment is tailored to the indivual needs of each patient.  Dr. Holton uses a combination of the following techniques based on a patient's treatment plan.

Chiropractic Adjustments

  • Diversified Technique

          ○ A combination of several types of physical Chiropractic Manipulation.  This is the most           common type of adjusting in the Chiropractic Community

  • Activator Technique

          ○ Uses a hand-held tool to give small pulses to joints set in a specific position or                       through motion.  This is usually used when small, gentle movement is necessary.

  • Extremity Adjusting

          ○ Extremities are full of joints, so these are not ignored!  Manual and Toggle board                     techniques are used to free limbs.

Body Work

  • Massage

          ○ Used as an importand introduction to other muscle techniques to loosen, strip,                       and/or heat up the muscles.

  • Muscle Techniques

          ○ Hold Relax, Post Isometric Relaxation, Muscle Testing, Intra-oral Muscle                               Work, and Trigger Point Therapy are among the most common techniques used in the             office.

Graston Technique

  • Stainless-Steel Tools are used to break apart soft tissue restrictions and release fascial adhesions. This is especially useful in chronic injuries.

Craniosacral Therapy

  • Gentle pressure applied for a sustained period is used to soften tight fascia and reduce Cerebrospinal Fluid stasis.   In this way restrictions throughout the body are removed and CSF flow is uninhibited.  This method can be used to release the bones in the cranium.  Often, this technique is used to treat Headaches, Migraines, Sinusitis, Temporomandibular Dysfunction, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety, and Chronic Pain.

Kinesio Tape

  • This is the most recognized form of elastic theurapeutic taping.  This Tape does not restrict movement, and can be worn in water.  It is used to passively strengthen injured muscles, decreased healing time from bruising and other inflammatory injuries, reduce tight or spasmed muscles, and gently stabalized joints.  While originally used on Olympic Athletes (think the black Tape in the Beijing Olympics), it is now being used on all types of closed injuries.
